Update for Dinner on Dalton 2026
Friends of Downtown King Partnership:
After two successful years of Dinner on Dalton, we are taking the opportunity to reimagine the event to ensure the best possible experience for our community. As downtown King has grown, many of the properties we previously used for staging have become occupied. This has created logistical challenges that make it difficult to present the Dinner on Dalton in its current form. We see this as a positive sign of progress, as a thriving and growing Downtown King is exactly what we strive for.
As part of this process, we are exploring a new date in the fall and look forward to sharing updated plans soon.

Update on Strategic Development
of Downtown King
In 2025, a community meeting took place, and a survey was created and circulated to gather feedback on desired improvements and needs within the downtown area. The findings from this survey have been shared with DKP and will be presented to the City Council at an upcoming meeting. These results outline various strategies and goals for the future development of Downtown King.
We eagerly anticipate presenting this information to the City Council and look forward to their to advance the ideas and suggestions in this strategic plan, in collaboration with NC Main Street & Rural Planning Center, a division of the NC of Commerce.
