DKP Supporters,

When the Downtown King Partnership was established, our mission was to help the downtown district of King, NC grow and prosper.  We have sought advice from communities such as ours along the way and discovered a network of towns just like ours trying to achieve the same goals and offer its’ citizens a unique downtown experience that reflects the values of their small town.

After the devastation of Hurricane Helene hit western North Carolina, DKP, like many of you, wanted to help.  We have some very personal ties to the area, especially Mitchell, Avery and Yancy counties.  After much research and discussion, we decided to use our non-profit status and set up a fund that will receive donations which will be given directly to these communities to help their downtowns, surrounding communities and citizens recover and rebuild from this disaster.  100% of these proceeds will go straight to these communities.  We have established direct contacts locally who will help us identify the most pressing needs.

If you wish to make a monetary donation you can do the following:

  • Bring cash or check to Helsabeck-Hall Insurance at 321 S. Main St., King, NC

  • Mail checks to:

  • We are working hard to have an online payment portal up and running through the bank.  When ready a link will be posted on our website and Facebook pages.

While we are taking this action to help our fellow communities, please know we are still committed to our little town.  As you drive through downtown, you can see many exciting changes coming and we hope to be announcing more things soon.

The generosity of the King, NC community so far has been amazing and proves what a great and passionate community we live in.  Thank you for your support in all that we do to make our town a great place to live.

Sincerely,
